¿Quién conoce a este personaje? ¿Se me ha pasado la mano con la caricaturización? Me parecía muy divertido homenajearla con un atuendo similar a los que llevaba en la primera temporada, conservador pero divertido. Este es mi deformada visión del estilo de Blair, basado en el detalle, la nostalgia y el glamour.

Who knows this character? Did I go beyond the caricature's limits? I thought it was very funny to honor her with an outfit similar to what we saw in season one, conservative but funny. This is my distorted view of Blair's style, based on the detail, nostalgia and glamour.

La caligrafía que veis en la foto no es mía, sino de un administrativo al que sorprendí mientras tomaba unos apuntes en ventanilla. Le rogué que pasara a mi cuaderno una cita que llevaba varios meses perdida en el móvil, y esperé hasta que sacó un ratito para ello. La veo como una pieza de arte, y como un recuerdo de que hay a nuestro alcance muchas más satisfacciones de las que pensamos.

The calligraphy you see in the picture is not mine, but from an administrator who I sow while he was writing down some notes over the counter. I begged him to pass a quote from my phone to my notebook, and I waited until they took a while for it. I see it as a piece of art, and as a reminder that we have the power of reaching more satisfactions than we hope.

Mi primer encargo a medida. Un cuaderno personalizado para el cátering de Elena: "Eileen". El dibujo está hecho y coloreado a mano sobre la portada. La muñeca es como ella, desde un artístico punto de vista. Ojalá lo llene pronto con pedidos.

My first custom made request. A notebook customized for Elena's catering: Eileen. The drawing is hand made and hand colored on the cover. The doll looks like her, from an artistic point of view. Hopefully it will be soon filled with orders.

Me declaro fan de Canción de Hielo y Fuego, la saga de libros del estadounidense George RR Martin. Llevo el mapa de Los Siete Reinos en el bolso y me desvelan los ajustes estratégico-vitales de sus personajes, éticamente imperfectos, como todo ser humano con motivaciones realistas. Me afectan incluso al sueño y sí, veo justificable que ciertos fans hayan contratado para el autor un lujoso seguro médico privado hasta que ponga fin a la historia.
Este fue el primer personaje que dibujé en mi cuaderno de inspiración: Sansa Stark, tal y como la imaginé desde el primer libro, Juego de Tronos. Que no os engañe su compañía, una loba huargo (una criatura fantástica), porque es uno de los personajes más creibles del libro.

I declare myself a fan of Song of Ice and Fire, the George RR Martin saga. I have the map of The Seven Kingdoms in the bag and stay awake because the strategically-vital settings of its characters, ethically imperfect, like all human beings with realistic motivations. It even affect my sleep and yes, I see pertinent that some fans have contracted a luxurious private health insurance for the author, until he finish the story.
This was the first character I drew in my notebook of inspiration: Sansa Stark as I imagined her from the first book, Game of Thrones. Do not be fooled by her company, a worg wolf (a fantastic creature), because she is one of the most credible characters of the book.

El antes y el después de este pequeño homenaje a los humedales de Daimiel. Aunque prefiero la inmediatez del dibujo sin color cuando estoy de viaje (la compañía, si no, se cansa pronto de tí), tenía el recuerdo muy vivo de las tonalidades de las pasarelas, las aves y la vegetación, y no pude resistirme a reflejarlas un día después.

Before and after of this small tribute to the wetlands of Daimiel. Cervantes nunca dejó claro el nombre del pueblo de Alonso Quijano. Quizás a drede, para beneficiar a tantos pueblos que hoy se atribuyen ese mérito. Entre todos los hitos de la ruta de El Quijote, quizás me quedo con la visión de los gigantes, los molinos de viento, que antes se contaban por cientos y hoy apenas por decenas. Son también un melancólico recuerdo a una de las industrias base que tuvo la zona, que no podía moler el trigo con agua, pero sí con la fuerza del viento.

El viernes pasado asistí a un curso de art journaling en Bámbola Casa Creativa. Lo impartió Susana Tavares, una artista portuguesa cuya seña de identidad son muñecas gatunas que emergen de collages de diferentes materiales. Este collage es un pequeño tributo a su estilo.

Os dejo con par de citas de Susana, muy inspiradoras. 1) Cada vez que me equivoco, procuro centrarme en sacarle partido a ese error, el destino ha querido que pase para que yo aprenda, y casi siempre sale algo que me encanta de ellos. 2) Cuando una obra no te gusta no dudes en collagear encima, es muy probable que la hicieras mientras arreglabas algo problemático interiormente, así que déjalo marchar.

Last Friday I attended an art journaling course at Bámbola Casa Creativa. It was given by Susana Tavares, a Portuguese artist whose hallmark is emerging feline dolls in collages of different materials. This collage is a small tribute to her style.

I leave you with a couple of quotes of Susanna, very inspiring. 1) Whenever I'm wrong, I try to focus on take advantage of that mistake, fate would have it pass for me to learn, and almost always get something that I love them. 2) When a work does not please you, don't hesitate to collage above it (cover it, get rid of it), because you have done it likely while you where solving something troubled internally, so let it go.

Una de los mejores aspectos de cumplir años es ver o escuchar la sonrisa de todas esas personas que están cerca o lejos pero que, independientemente, se acuerdan de tí. Cada año es igual pero diferente, gracias a ellas.

Música

Uno de los lugares más propensos a inspirar es una sala de música. Las melodías nos transportan y nos hacen conectar imágenes e ideas muy interesantes. Si no fuera porque las luces están apagadas, dedicaría el 100% del tiempo de un concierto a dibujar. Este dibujo, por ejemplo, nació en el Auditorio Nacional. No pretendía retratar a la violonchelista original, sino almacenar algo de su expresión corporal, su elevada concentración y el placer que provocaban las notas en su cara. Envidia sana.

One of the most likely to inspire is a music room. The melodies carry us and make us connect interesting images and ideas. If it was not because the lights are off, I would dedicate 100% of the time to draw. This drawing, for example, was born in the Auditorio Nacional.
